Limerick City Quay

L & M Keating Limited is carrying out “Limerick Riverside Improvement Strategy” which requires piling to a new Boardwalk Structure. McDonnell Piling & Foundations were employed to carryout 450mm diameter piling in a very restricted site, The river Shannon provided a environmentally sensitive boundary on one side with a road where access had to be maintained on the other side of the site. We used our Tescar CF3 rig due to its compact size and weight for such a tight site.

Concrete was supplied and pumped using Roadstone’s pumi pump which was able to connect to the piling operation and facilitate the pumping of additional concrete from delivery trucks.

Piles were installed to depths of 6.0m to 8.0m.

The piles were installed with minimum disruption to traffic in the area and no interference with the river Shannon what so ever.
